An effective treatment regimen is typically 3 to 5 sessions spaced one month apart. The Fraxel treatment is customized for each individual based on the patient’s skin condition as well as lifestyle to achieve the desired outcome. Results are both immediate and progressive, with optimal improvement usually visible in 1 to 2 months. This timeframe and treatment protocol allow for complete healing and the production of new collagen and elastin to replace the damaged tissue. The Fraxel Dual procedure can last anywhere between 20-40 minutes for a full face. A topical anesthetic is used to the treat the area beforehand. For someone looking for less downtime than Fraxel, non-ablative resurfacing laser also penetrates the skin without cutting or burning.
